To help create a safe, family-friendly event space in the heart of Ilkley, The Grove will be closed to vehicles on Saturday 1 August and Sunday 2 August 2026.
The temporary road closure allows thousands of visitors to safely enjoy live music, entertainment, market stalls, food and drink, and activities taking place throughout the weekend. The closure has been carefully planned in partnership with Bradford Council Highways under a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO).
Closure Times
The Grove
- Saturday 1 August: 6:00am – 11:00pm
- Sunday 2 August: 7:00am – 4:00pm
Road closure barriers will be in place during these times, with clearly signed diversion routes for motorists. Advance warning signs will also be displayed around the town ahead of the event.
Access for Residents and Businesses
We appreciate that road closures can cause some inconvenience and have worked hard to minimise disruption wherever possible.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the weekend, allowing residents, visitors and customers to continue accessing homes, businesses and public spaces. Step-free routes will remain available across the event site, and accessible drop-off points will be provided on Parish Ghyll Road.
Traffic management operatives and event stewards will be on duty throughout the event to assist pedestrians, answer questions and safely manage access where required.
Diversions
Clearly signed diversion routes will be in place before the road closures begin, helping motorists navigate around the town centre safely and efficiently. Advance warning signs will also be installed in the weeks leading up to the event to give road users plenty of notice.
Emergency Access
Maintaining access for emergency services is a key priority. Emergency routes have been built into the traffic management plan, with trained personnel able to quickly remove or adjust barriers should emergency vehicles need access. Stewards remain in constant communication with Event Control throughout the weekend.
